RINGLINK SCOTLAND has appointed Pete Small as the new area manager for their office in Cupar, Fife.
A well-kent face in the agricultural community, Mr Small has a lifetime of experience in the industry. Coming from a long line of farmers, he grew up on the family farm near Leuchars and developed a wide range of experiences and skills since leaving Bell Baxter High School in the late 1970’s.
“I’m delighted to join Ringlink in their newest office and I’m eager to promote their wide range of services throughout Fife, Kinross and beyond," commented Mr Small. "Ringlink naturally chose Cupar as its local base, which as we all know is the agricultural capital of the Kingdom. It’s reassuring to be working with such an experienced team and none more so than Tom Easson, who specialises in supplying labour for the region.”
Managing director of Ringlink, Graham Bruce, added: “Over the last year the membership in Fife has grown by 37% and I’m sure this will only continue to flourish as Pete joins the team. It has been a tough year for everyone but our business is here to help. With such a diverse portfolio of services to offer from suppling Labour, Training Courses, Utilities along with other services including: agricultural commodities from feeds to fertilizers, grain and forage trading, the list goes on and on.
“The shortage of seasonal workers particularly for the soft fruit and vegetable producers in the area remains a challenge and Ringlink is at the forefront of sourcing the workforce and keeping abreast of the new legislation following the UK’s exit from the EU”.
Mr Small concluded: “One of the newer and most exciting initiatives is the pre-apprenticeship training programme which aims to attract and support young people from all backgrounds into the sector. Training provision is another key growth area allowing members and non-members to maintain their skills and certifications as well develop new skills from a plethora of course options. Renewable energy services are currently being explored and the co-operative remains steadfast in helping to support members throughout the challenges that lie ahead.”
