DUE TO ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the Royal Northern Agricultural Society has taken the decision to again postpone Countryside Live 2020.
The summer educational event had been rescheduled to take place on May 30 and 31 this year, at Mackie’s of Scotland, Westertown, Rothienorman, but has now been postponed a further year and will take place in May, 2022.
The two-day event was to include an open day on the Sunday for the general public, followed by school visits on the Monday organised by rural education charity Royal Northern Countryside Initiative.
President of RNAS, Jimmy Dick, said: “The committee is really disappointed to have to postpone Countryside Live 2020 for a second year, especially when so much planning has already gone into the event.
“Restrictions will still likely be in place for mass gatherings throughout the summer but our main priority is the health and wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors and organisers. We look forward to welcoming you to this family fun event next year which will have something for everyone to enjoy.”
Although this year's Royal Northern Spring Show has already been cancelled, the sale of multi-breed pedigree bulls and exhibition cattle will still go ahead later this month at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, in conjunction with Aberdeen and Northern Marts.
