DAIRY PRODUCERS are invited to take part in a webinar looking at the benefits of improved protein nutrition.
SRUC are hosting the online event on July 28, with a focus on ration formulation for lactating cows and how improved protein nutrition can improve production, lower feed costs and reduce environmental impact.
Guest speakers will include Chris Reynolds from the University of Reading, who will give a presentation on low-protein diets, while John Newbold, Professor of Dairy Nutrition at SRUC, and Lorna MacPherson, Dairy Consultant from SAC Consulting will discuss formulating for amino acids.
Attendees will also get an industry perspective from Will Tulley from Evidence Group, Chris Bartram from Mole Valley Farmers and Carrs Billington’s Jimmy Goldie.
Prof Newbold commented: “The webinar will be of interest to all dairy nutrition professionals – feed industry technical specialists, consultants and advisors, vets, farmers and students. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn how more milk protein, lower feed costs and reduced environmental impact can all result from improved protein nutrition.”
The free webinar, which is supported by the Universities Innovation Fund (UIF) takes place on Tuesday, July 28, between 2pm and 4pm.
