ROXBURGHE ESTATES has supported the making of a new BBC documentary series, ‘The River’, which follows the lives of people who live and work around the River Tweed, including one of the estates’ ghillies and the team at Floors Stud.
The new six-part series started airing on Monday November 7 on BBC Scotland.
The series features people from numerous walks of life including a coffee shop owner, a chocolatier and confectioner, a fishing tackle shop owner and a horse trainer.
Roxburghe Estates’ ghillie on the Upper Floors beat of the Tweed, Colin Bell, and the manager of Floors Stud, Donald Trouton, are also featured. Roxburghe factor Roddy Jackson said: “We were delighted to be involved and to support this TV series which gives a fascinating insight into the lives of the people who live and work on the Tweed. Visitors to the estate often say there is a great appetite to learn more about everyday life in rural areas and we’re confident The River will give viewers a very interesting and pleasant picture.”
