Siloking’s innovative, permanent magnet, integrated into the mixing auger, has won a silver medal at the prestigious EuroTier Innovation Award, revolutionising safety and efficiency in feed mixing.

A standout feature of the design is its separable magnet housing, allowing metal fragments to be removed easily and safely – unmatched by any other product on the market.

The key innovation lies in separating the magnet from its housing, eliminating the magnet’s holding force when the housing is removed. This ensures users can extract metal particles from feed without risk of injury.

Sales director Sascha Behrend explains: “Cleaning the magnet is now much safer and more efficient. Particularly with neodymium magnets, captured foreign particles previously could be only removed with great effort.

“Now the user can clean the housing from the outside and does not need to overcome the holding force of the magnet. This makes the cleaning process much easier – and also eliminates the previous risk of being injured at the mixing auger.”

The magnet is strategically positioned near the discharge door, allowing for easy cleaning. With the discharge door open, the outer housing can be unlocked using a tool provided with the feed mixer and pulled outwards to safely remove foreign particles. This ensures that the cleaning process remains safe and efficient, keeping operators away from potential hazards at the mixing auger.

The housing itself is crafted from highly wear-resistant stainless steel, ensuring durability and reliability. It features Silonox, a material renowned for its high wear resistance, in the upper areas exposed to feed flow.

“The stainless steel magnet housing is non-ferritic and designed not to interfere with the mixing process. In the upper area, which is exposed to the feed flow and thus requires a specific wear resistance, the proven ‘wear miracle’ Silonox is used.”
