A pair of Texels from John and Archie MacGregor, Allanfauld, Kilsyth, attracted the top price of £650 at a small but select sale of ewe hoggs at Scotsheep.
Champion overall at the pre-sale show, the duo, embryo sisters bred from a home-bred ewe and sired by Mullan Firefly, were purchased by Messrs Bryson, Laigh Logan.

Second top price was £420 paid for a pair of Suffolks from Stewart Shaw, Smailholm Mains. They are sired by a Midhope sire bought from John Keys at Shrewsbury and sold to Adam Grieve.
Blackface ewe hoggs reached £350 for a duo from Andrew Kay and sons Robert and Andrew, Gass, Straiton, purchased by T MacNaughton, Dalmore, Kintyre.
