Lanarkshire Holstein herds came together at the start of the month for their annual herds competition, which this year was under the watchful eye of the judge, John Gilmour Jnr, Humeston.

Herds competing this year were: Messrs Baillie, Dalserf; Messrs Bryson, Carnduff; Messrs Lawrie, Grangehall; Messrs Neilson, Overside; and Messrs Weatherup, Parkend/Lesmay.

LEADING awards

Best heifer bred – 1, B Weatherup and Partners with Parkend Secret Tamara; 2, Carnduff Crushtime Tina; 3, Grangehall Crushtime Amy.

Best heifer mammary – B Weatherup and Partners with Parkend Secret Tamara.

Best individual cow – 1, JD Baillie with Dalserf Demon Corneliske; 2, B Weatherup and Partners with Lesmay Goodwhone Amberline; 3, A and E Lawrie with Grangehall Amo Stella.

Cow producing 50tonne – 1, B Weatherup with Lesmay Goodwhone Amberline; 2, Firm of W W Neilson with Overside Delight; 3, A and E Lawrie with Grangehall Uno Gypsy.

Best cow mammary – 1, B Weatherup and Partners with Lesmay Goodwhone Amberline.
