A three-month-old working sheepdog pup has achieved a new world record price selling for £10,600 plus 5% buyers' premium, at a timed on-line auction through Farmers Mart, Dolgellau.
Newbold Caz from well-known Welsh handler, Kevin Evans, Brecon, is bred from Simon Cottrell's Jew which is a full sister to Mr Evans' top Red Spot dog and sired by his own Red Jaff. Caz sold to the Delves family, Montgomeryshire after showing great potential on the video catalogue.
Second top price was £10,200 paid by top Caithness handler, Jock Sutherland, Durness, for the nursery trial winner, Ellan Valley Bob, consigned by A Games, Crickhowell, Powys. He is by Derwen Doug.
Two dogs achieved a £9600 price tag, with the first, Lyn, a 14-month-old bitch from N Redman, Torfaen selling, an undisclosed buyer from South Wales.
Selling at the same money was the 12-month-old eye-catching dog, Tynygraig Mirk, from Dewi Jenkins, Ceredigion. He was bought by L White, Bamford, Hope Valley.
