A free photography exhibition documenting the Herdwick sheep of the Lake District is set to take place at Penrith's Rheged's Gallery.
The event will showcase portraits by photographer Ian Lawson.
Originally from Lancashire, Mr Lawson moved to Cumbria two decades ago for its landscapes.
The event is scheduled to run from September 13 until November 23.
Mr Lawson said: "Throughout my career, I've learned that focusing on what I know and love best yields the most significant impact.
"Here in Lakeland, it's the life-affirming presence of the Herdwick sheep that captivates me."
He hopes his work will inspire appreciation for the beauty and importance of the Herdwicks.
Over his three-year endeavour to understand fell farming, he visited 23 fell farms across the region.
The exhibition, featuring his favourite images, is divided into four seasons, showcasing the changing landscapes.
The exhibition will feature large-format photography that tells a story of a timeless bond among the land, sheep, and shepherds across the Lake District farming landscape.
Claire Harrison, gallery manager, said: "We are delighted to welcome Ian back to the Rheged Gallery, after an eight-year break, with this his third exhibition and new book.
"Ian’s photography too has evolved, and this three-year labour of love has seen a completely new portfolio of photography which we are looking forward to sharing with both the local community and visitors alike.”
The exhibition also marks the launch of Mr Lawson's project, a 448-page photo-art book titled 'The Lake District – Herdwick'.
The book featuring 350 photographs will be available at Rheged.
