A VILLAGE in Scotland has been named as the country’s “most picturesque”.
St Abbs in the Scottish Borders has been recognised by photography experts at ParrotPrint as being one of the most beautiful places in the UK.
It was the only Scottish location to make the list and is known for its wildlife and its popular hiking trail.
The photogenic lighthouse and view over to the North Sea is also a perfect spot for those looking to capture some great images.
Another highlight is the small harbour with its local fishing and tour boats.
A spokesperson for ParrotPrint commented: "Anyone heading out this bank holiday should seriously consider visiting our top seven most picturesque UK villages to experience their magic and take in the stunning scenery.
"The UK has some of the prettiest villages in the world, but sometimes it's easy to forget the beauty we have right on our doorstep.
"Whether you are looking to immerse yourself in nature on rugged coastal walks or take in the late summer sun amidst the chocolate-box charm of quaint village life, these gorgeous destinations won’t disappoint."
