Millport celebrated the opening of its new prom with a family fun day - and a flock of alpacas proved to be the stars of the show.
Offshore work on North Ayrshire Council's £48 million flood protection scheme is now complete, with the rest of the project "developing well".
And the reopening of the prom was marked by a special event on Saturday, on the promenade opposite the Garrison.
The event featured a sandcastle building competition, face painting, crafts and an exhibition of sea defence machinery - as well as a herd of alpacas which was a great treat for all the youngsters.
A spokesperson for the Cumbrae Tourist Association said: “It was great to see the island so busy over the weekend, and we were delighted to have so many people join us at the new-look promenade.
"We are also pleased to have two ferries operating daily, to accommodate visitors to the island throughout the summer season.”
