THE British Showjumping (BS) NAF Shining Star Award for February has been given to 12-year-old Anya Kolleth from Shropshire.

Pat Crann, lead coach for the Shropshire Junior Academy, nominated Anya for the NAF Shining Star Award.

"Anya has not missed one session of the junior academy training, despite a setback in 2012 when her top 128cms pony went lame, meaning that the combination missed out on their qualification for Horse of the Year Show," explained Pat. "Whilst her pony was recuperating, Anya helped to bring on a young pony for a friend and she achieved good results.

"So far, 2013 has been successful year for Anya. She won the Winter 128cms Competition at the Hand Equestrian Centre on her new pony, Pepino IL Grande, qualifying him for the Royal International Horse Show. Anya was also a member of the Shropshire team that competed at the Inter Academy show at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre. The team ended up finishing in fourth place.

Anya has been a member with British Showjumping since 2010 and she has been riding since she was just three years old and was delighted to learn that she had been awarded the NAF Shining Star award.
