Dave Nicol, Auchtenny, had a field day at Caledonian Marts’ Martinmas show and sale at Stirling, selling the top priced pen at £200 whilst also selling the lead priced Mules and Blackfaces at £135 and £127, respectively.

The event which saw some 7112 store lambs and feeding ewes forward, was judged by Alfie Taylor, Heatheryhall, who found his champion winners in a pen of Beltex from M and J Kennedy, Lurgan. The pen of 80 sold for £198 per head.

The reserve from Craig and John Robertson, Newton of Logierait, were also Beltex and later made £170.
