A top price of 3000gns was achieved at the Suffolk Supremes sale at Lanark, where the entry of 41 in-lamb females and ewe lambs averaged £1026.95 with and 89% clearance.
Sale leader was a one-crop ewe from Jimmy Douglas, Woodhead of Cairness, Fraserburgh. Sired by the 75,000gns Cairnton Prince and out of a Middlemuir ewe by the Cairness Dunkirk, she sold to M Patterson, Gun Cottage, Banffshire, carrying twins to Cairness Five Star.
John Gibb, Cairnton, Fraserburgh sold a ewe lamb for 2000gns to Senga Barron of the Findowrie flock, Brechin. This Cairness Five Star daughter, is out of a home-bred daughter by Creagislay Cracker.
Three lots made 1900gns, with the first being a ewe lamb from John Christie, Westcarse, Stirling. She is the first daughter to be offered for sale by Westcarse Immaculate and out of a ewe by Cairness Lucky Strike. The buyers were Alex and Russell Gray, Langside, Kirkfieldbank.
Westcarse also sold a gimmer for 1600gns to SP Herraty and M MacPhee, Low Ranachan, Campbeltown. A Forkins Firefly daughter, out of a Ballyboe Boe-sired dam, she sold carrying twins to the 3800gns Harpercroft Goliath.

First time consigner, Graeme Christie of the Balquhain flock, Inverurie received 1900gns twice for gimmers. First was a Muirton Man of the Moment daughter, out of a Howgillfoot Sniper sired dam. She sold carrying twins to the 28,000gns Castleisle Blackadder to Messrs Mitchell, Grassknop, Skelton.
Minutes later, a Castleisle Comedian daughter, out of a Strathisla Stifler home-bred dam, made the same money carrying a single lamb by Castleisle Blackadder. The gimmer was knocked down to N McArthur, Highbank Park, Lochgilphead.
