Jimmy Douglas, Woodhead Of Cairness, Fraserburgh, sold the lead priced Suffolk female of 5000gns at the Suffolk in lamb show and sale at Carlisle.
William and David Moir, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, purchased this gimmer, which is a daughter of Bridgeview Belvenie and out of Clyda, which goes back to Castleisle Kilteskin Prince. She sold in lamb to a Strathbogie sire.
The pre-sale champion from Myfyr Evans of the Rhaeadr flock, Tan-Yr-accar, Llanrhaeadr, later realised 3500gns when the hammer fell to Messrs Lonsdale, Bishop Auckland, County Durham. This ewe lamb is sired by Carony Cha-Ching, which was purchased for 19,000gns at the National Sale last year, and out of a home-bred dam by Ardlea Arbennig.

Steven J Buckley, Sittinglow, Dove Holes, Derbyshire, had a field day selling two gimmers, sired by Sportsmans Black Label, both to Messrs Lewis, Narberth, Dyfed. Both were scanned a pair to Jalex X Factor.
The first is out of a home-bred daughter of Strathbogie Peaky Blinder and the second is bred from a Bentley Fly Half daughter.
The pre-sale reserve champion came from the Boden family of the Sportsmans flock, Mellor Hall Farm, Mellor, which later made 2200gns. This gimmer is a daughter of Salopian Solid Gold and bred from a home-bred daughter which goes back to Strathbogie Ace. She sold in lamb to Annakisha Champ having found a new home with Connell Farms, Lauder, Berwickshire.
John Gibb of the Cairnton flock, Cairnton, Techmuiry, Fraserburgh, took 1800gns from Messrs Goldie, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, for the third prized ewe lamb. A daughter of Cairness Cooper, the dam was purchased from the Knockem flock at Lanark in 2021.
