A joint sale of Dutch Spotted and Valais Blacknoses achieved a top call of 3000gns at the Cannon Hall Christmas Crackers on farm sale on behalf of Rob and Dave Nicholson, Cawthorne, Barnsley.
It was the Dutch Spotteds that led the way with the gimmer Cannon Hall Gladys, a daughter of Drumhirk Decider and bred from Hill Top Esme. She sold in lamb to Back Tor Gunner when finding a new home with Messrs Thompson, Yeovil, Somerset.
Cannon Hall Gillian then made 2000gns when selling to Messrs Whiteford, Brampton, Cumbria. This gimmer is a daughter of Lower Argoed Elite, out of Cannon Hall Daisy, and sold in lamb to Back Tor Gunner.

Ewe lambs were next in the money, as Messrs Pickup, Bolton, Lancashire, purchased two at 2000gns and 1900gns.
Dearest of the two, Cannon Hall Hail Mary, is sired by Craigdoo Flight Risk with the latter, Cannon Hall Hunky Dory, being a daughter of Tiptop Godspeed. Another Godspeed daughter, Cannon Hall Heavenly Angel, realised 1600gns when the hammer fell to Messrs Spencer and Son, Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Among the Valais Blacknose, a top call of 1400gns was paid for the gimmer Cannon Hall Gigi, when selling down to Dorset with Messrs Martin, Benwille. A daughter of Drumhirk Decider, she is out of Hill Top Esme, and sold in lamb to Tiptop Godspeed.
Cannon Hall Jo, a ewe, realised 1000gns when the hammer fell to Redcarpet Valais, Shropshire. Sired by Highland Bertie she is bred from Cannon Hall Alice and sold in lamb to Cannon Hall Jack.
