Messrs Lord, Hewgill, secured the championship and the top two prices of £6500 and £6000 at Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart LLP show and sale of crossing-type Bluefaced Leicesters.
The pre-sale champion, a shearling sired by the R2 Hanging Wells, sold for the top price to J Ireland and Son, Stockhow Hall.
A ram lamb by R38 Hewgill then made £6000, selling to S Procter, Great Musgrave, and J Wills, Dufton.
Hewgill also bagged the reserve honours with a ram lamb sired by S1 Sealhouses, which later made £2600 selling to G Birkett, Lonscale.
Next best at £2200 was a shearling ram from JW Twentyman, Applegarth, purchased by G Wharton, Town Head, Tebay.
Two other lambs from Messrs Shields, Skeughdale, and RB and DJ Bousfield, Renwick, made £2000.
