John and Mandy Smith-Jackson, Lipwood, produced the champion pen which went to sell for £350, while the top price of £380 was paid for the third prize pen from Richard Ridley, Woodhall.
The Euro Continental ewe lamb sale peaked at £230 for two Texels from Messrs Smith and Co, Roachburn Farm.
Texels from R and A Harrison, Hazel Head, Wigton, topped the Latter Fair ram sale selling at £1250 twice, with the flock selling 10 to average £915.

Penrith
An entry of 10,000 North of England Mule ewe lambs and Cheviot Mule gimmers sold through Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart saw lambs average £155, a rise of £35.27 on the year.
Top price was £460 paid for the champion pen from Messrs Lord, West Dowgill, purchased by J Winter, Clickham.
Cheviot Mules averaged £156.03 and sold to £285 from JR Weir, Elva Plain Farm, Cockermouth, purchased by Messrs Knight, Stepheny Farm.

Prices peaked at £2000 at the opening Hawes Hunks show and sale of multi-breed rams for a Bluefaced Leicester shearling from A Lodge’s Westside flock from Malham Moor, Settle.
Blues enjoyed the best trade of the day with other shearlings at £1650 from Rachel Bland, Tebay; £1400 from CT and JE Willoughby, Redmire; £1300 from G Mudd, Burtersett and £1250 from EW and JR Parkinson, Dunsop Bridge, while aged Leicester rams sold to £1500 for a two-shear from RS Harker and Son, Grayrigg.
Texels were topped at £1250 by a shearling from J North, Giggleswick and GA and DE Slack, Appleby sold three at £1200 each, while S and A Bland, Tebay sold to £1100 twice.
The overall champion, a Beltex from S and A Bland, Gaisgill, made £1050, with others of the same breed reaching £1000 from Page Farm Partnership, Ripon

Some 26 rams averaged £480 at Harrison and Hetherington’s multi-breed ram sale, where crossing-type Bluefaced Leicester shearlings from PW Hedley, Corsbie Cottage, led the trade selling at £780 and £700.
Suffolks sold to £700 twice from N Sandilands, Brown’s Cottage, with Texels to £550 from Messrs Riding, Lanton Crag.
Traditional Bluefaced Leicesters reached £550 from Scott Mabon, Howden.

The third annual flock production sale of 42 Texel gimmers and ewes from John Douglas and family, peaked at £500 for an Airies Camet-sired one-crop ewe purchased by Mandy Graham, Hillend.
The sale, conducted by C and D Auctions saw other ewes reach £450 to average £244.64.
Gimmers peaked at £450 for and Airies Fergus daughter to average £300.77.
Lerwick
A mixed show for the sale of 2704 head of ewe lambs saw a full ringside of buyers looking for top draw entries which resulted in an average of £65.27, up £2.48 on the year.
Top price at the sale conducted by Shetland Marketing Group and Aberdeen and Northern Marts, was £180 paid for a pair of pure Cheviot lambs from Gremista Farm, Lerwick.
Overall, 1745 Cheviot ewe lambs averaged £71.23 (+£3.93 on the year); 331 Texels, £72.30 (+£1.05) and 534 Shetlands, £41.32 (+£8.40).

On Tuesday, 1609 breeding sheep averaged £121.58 having sold to £210 for Mule gimmers from Tollo Farm, Fortrie.
