South Country Cheviots from LW Goodfellow, Townfoot, attracted the top prices at C and D Auction Marts’ Border Cheviot ewe sale of 6725 head at Longtown, selling one-crop ewes and gimmers for £600 and £400, respectively

Ewe lambs reached £108 on two occasions from John Halliday and Sons, Springwells and from WJ Douglas and Son, Upper Hindhope.

North County Cheviot ewes reached £260 for a pen of 13 from Ruth and Dallas Allen, Humbleheugh with the sister and brother duo also topping the gimmers at £380.

Ewe lambs reached £290 for a black and white lamb from Thompson Walls Ltd, Mindrum, followed by a trio of black lambs from N Macdonald, West Blackbyre, at £270.
