A Beltex gimmer from Messrs Skidmore, Needless Hall, attracted the lead price of £410 at Harrison and Hetherington’s sale of 1780 continental and Mule breeding sheep at Kirkby Stephen, selling to Rachael Tiplady, Red House Farm.
The same home also sold Beltex gimmers to £370 and £355 purchased by Messrs Trafford, Bassenthwaite Hall, Keswick. Needless Hall sold 16 gimmers to average £317.19.
Park-type Cheviots peaked at £370 for eight from Chloe Longstaff, Ascot House, Murton, purchased by Dowson and Sartin, Battle Hill, Barnard Castle.

The flock dispersal from Messrs Atkinson, Abbey Park, reached £340 for a pen of five Texel gimmers which sold to Messrs Wilson, Ashstead, Kendal. The consignment of 150 Texel cross gimmers up to four-crop ewes averaged £230.31.
Ewe lambs peaked at £345 for a pure Texel from H and B Wharton, Galloperrise, Tebay, again purchased by Racheal Tiplady.
Gimmers of all breeds averaged £208.21, up £11.02 on the year, with aged ewes at £173.66, up £28.78.
Breeding rams reached £1850 for a Texel shearling from Messrs Slack, Stoneriggs. Messrs Millar and Partners, Crookholm, Canonbie, sold two Texel cross Beltex shearlings at £1300 each. Rams averaged £602.22, up £70.99.
