Size and power was the order of the day at Craig Wilson's multi-breed ram sale where only three tups failed to find new homes.
Top price was £1400 paid for a Texel shearling from J and J Campbell, Dinnans, who also sold another at £1300, to average £883.33 for 12.
Second top price was £1350 paid for another Texel, this time from A Clark and Son, West Glengyre. Cross-bred Charollais cross Texel cross Beltex shearlings peaked at £1300 from AC Clark, No 1 Fineview, who also sold others at £1200 and £1150.
Overall, shearlings averaged £694.14, with the cross-bred section leading the way at £987.
Lambs levelled at £677.78 having peaked at £1250 and £1050 for Suffolks from H Vance, Mid Skeog, while Texels sold to £800 and £750 from Messrs Hair and Brewis, Drumbreddan.
By the end of the day lamb averages saw Suffolks cash in at £795.45p for 11 while Texels levelled at £617.86 for 14.
Shearling averages saw nine Beltex at £524; five Bluefaced Leicesters at £718; eight cross-breds at £987.50 and 60 Texels at £693.83. Four two-shear Texel and Suffolk rams levelled at £537.50p.

All classes of breeding ewes sold in excess of sellers expectations at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale of 2203 store, breeding and feeding sheep incorporating Dunbeath, Bettyhill, Forsinard and North West Sutherland areas.
Gimmers (199) averaged £146.07, up £40.94 on the year, having sold to £260 for Cheviots from Braemore, Dunbeath (McGonigal). Breeding ewes (1306) levelled at £121.87 (+£8.85), peaking at £202 for North Cheviot from Tain, Castletown.
Store lambs (163) sold to £89 for Cheviots from Simpsons Croft, Backlass with eight breeding rams reaching £400 for a hill-type Cheviot from Golval, Forsinard. Texels from Sibmister topped the 527 feeding ewes and rams selling at £162.

Kirkby Stephen
All lambs sold for more than £100 at Harrison and Hetherington's prize show and sale of North of England Mule ewe lambs at Kirkby Stephen where an entry of 8160 lambs averaged £154.38 – up £33.66 on the year.
The sale was topped at £500 for the champion pen of 10 lambs from Messrs Hayton, Asby Grange, purchased by Messrs Brown, Dove Cote Barn, Leyburn.
The first prize small breeders' lambs from Messrs Burrow and Rutter Armstrong, Langwathby Hall, were presented the reserve and made £260 to Messrs Fox, Clitheroe.
The second prize in the open class, from Messrs Brown, Asby Hall made £380 to James Robinson, Carnforth.
Also achieving £380 was the fourth prize pen lambs from Messrs Hutchinson, Redgate purchased by Messrs Richardson, Ghyll House, Dufton.

Some 19,073 Mule ewe lambs were foward for the two-day show and sale through Hawes Farmers Auction Mart, where an overall average of £167.74 was achieved – up £41 on the year.
Top price was £750 paid for the champion pen on the Tuesday, from Messrs Lord, North Stainmore, purchased by Winter Bros, Appleby.
On Monday, the champion pen from G and HR Shields, Ravenstonedale, sold for £650.

Some 1287 head of sheep forward for Harrison and Hetherington’s Wooler Mart Sheep Fair, included a flock dispersal and reduction.
The dispersal of 341 Texel crosses, three-crop ewes and ewe lambs from J Hall and Sons, Bewick Folly, Alnwick, averaged £224.57, while the reduction sale of 797 Suffolk cross and Mules, three-crop ewes and gimmers from Messrs Hunter, Reaveley Greens, Powburn, cashed in at £191.39.

Bentham
All types of ewe lambs met a buoyant demand at Bentham Auction Mart’s sale were the champion pen of 10 Mashams sold for a centre record £520 per head and Mules peaked at £580.
The Mashams were consigned by Messrs Verity of Middlesmoor, with others from David Buck, Barnard Castle, reaching £400 and £340. A sale average of £135.40 was achieved for the breed – up £17 on the year.
North of England Mule ewe lambs peaked at £580 for the third prize pen from WM Hutchinson, Kirkby Redgate, purchased by Winter Bros, Clickham.
The first and second prize winners from AC and K Pye, Abbeystead and GE Jackson, Bentham, made £550 and £500, respectively. Mule ewe lamb averages were up £31.65 to average £157.26.
Cheviot Mule ewe lamb averages increased £25.61 to £157.46, having sold to £280 for the first prize pen from Adam Carr, Bentham,.
