Prices peaked at 11,000gns at the inaugural show and sale of Valais Blacknose sheep at Lanark Agricultural Centre, where a 54% clearance was achieved.

The sale which was staged on behalf of the Scottish Valais Blacknose Club, was topped by the male champion, Highland Jazzy, from Raymond Irvine and Jenni McAllister, Inverlochy, Glenlivet. Grading one point off maximum, this two-shear ram is sired by Highland Furryboots and out of the home-bred dam, Highland Erin II. After a fury of ringside and online bids via Marteye, Jazzy sold to Jamie Wood, Prendwick Farm, Whittingham.

Mr Wood sold the top priced shearling ram at 2000gns to online buyer, Richard Beattie, Glenpark, Omagh. His purchase, Prendwick Knight Rider, is sired by Cheshire Incredible Hulk and out of Prendwick Faith.

Another from the same home led the females at 1000gns. Prendwick Lady Top, an ET ewe lamb, is bred from Prendwick Dot and sired by Yet Tree Bertie. The buyer was Steven Dace, Valais Farm, Over Alderley.
