Averages were well up on the year at United Auctions’ sale of 9374 breeding sheep at Stirling, where Scotch Mule ewe lambs cashed in at £170.20 (+£41.16 on the year) while Blackface ewe lambs balanced out at £121.86 (+£39.17).
Topping the sale at £220 was a pen of Scotch Mule ewe lambs from the Wight family, Townfoot (Midlock).
The pre-sale show of Scotch Mule ewe lambs was won by a pen from Alastair and David MacArthur, Nunnerie, which later realised £210.
Accredited Scotch Mule ewe lambs averaged £154.35 (+£25.81), while non-accredited balanced at £171.41 (+£41.75).
Blackface ewe lambs peaked at £170 for a pen of 30 from Willie and Ewan Bennie, Merkins.
Non-accredited Blackface ewe lambs saw the biggest jump on the year, up £47.06 to level at £128.71, while accredited lambs cashed in at £119.22 (+£32.55).
