Angus Brisbane, Castle Kennedy, Stranraer, came home in style from a multi-breed sheep sale at Worcester having bought the top priced lot and champion Blue Texel at 2000gns.
The sale which included Blue Texels, Badger Face Texels, Beltex and Rouge sheep, was led by the Blue Texel ram lamb, Brutey’s Blues Jackpot from Paul and Delyth Brute, Brecon, Powys. By Mullygarrow Grey Goose, he goes out to work in Angus Brisbane's Auchmantle flock.
Helping to finance that purchase, Mr Brisbane sold the equal top priced female at 1000gns. This was the first prize Blue Texel gimmer, Auchmantle Hocus Pocus, a daughter of Matt’s Game On, purchased by FJ Baird, Tetbury, Glos.
Chris Davies' Beaconsview flock from Brecon, also had a good day, selling a ram lamb at 1300gns, a shearling at 1300gns and the lead priced female at the same money. His Blue Texel ram lamb, Beaconsview Jack The Lad, by Beaconsview Goldmine, sold to R Partridge, Ipswich, Suffolk, with the Beaconsview Harvey, sired by Beaconsview de Niro, heading home with GA and HM Francis, Carmarthen.

Mr Davies' ewe lamb, Beaconsview Jet, the female champion, is by Pollyannas Hunter and was knocked down to SA Norman, Taunton, Somerset.
The pre-sale Beltex champion, a gimmer from David Thornley’s Dooley flock led the breed at 1000gns. Dooley Jazzy ET, is a Clary Cosmos daughter and sold to the Clatworthy family, Highbridge, Somerset.
Badger Face Texels sold to 950gns for the ram lamb, Evelyn Frost, from Caitlyn and Eva Howells, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan. By Knockmult Eay On ET, he caught the eye of the James family, Llandrindod Wells, Powys.
