Averages fell in all sections at the Dutch Spotted Summer Selection Society show and sale at Carlisle, albeit with more finding new homes.
In an all Welsh transaction, the sale leader at 7000gns was Brian Davies’ ewe lamb, Ty-Gwyn Hot Chick, from South Hill Farm, Wiston, Haverfordwest, which was purchased by Messrs Jones, Ffairfach, Llandelio.
Second in her class at the pre-sale show, she is a daughter of McDermotts Fireman and out of Ty-Gwyn Fabulous.

Dumfriesshire breeder, Ali Jackson, Maulscastle, Annan, sold the reserve champion, Tiptop Gisty, a gimmer for 6000gns to Messrs Thompson, Halstock, Yeovil, Somerset.
She is sired by the imported tup, Sea The Stars and out of Tiptop Evening Mist.
Next best at 2600gns was the gimmer, Lochlad Gypsy Rose from Andrew and Pam Parker, Lochmaben, Lockerbie, purchased by an undisclosed buyer.
She is backed by home-bred genetics being a daughter of Lochlad Dictator and out of Lochlad Bejewelled.
The second prized gimmer, Merryboro Glow, from Tom and Louise Nash, Merryboro, Wiston, Haverfordwest, made 2500gns. Sired by Dutch Dominator, she sold to Messrs Heigh, Slaidburn Road, Bentham, Lancaster.
Leading the males at 4200gns, was the first prize shearling ram from Liam Campbell, Ballymena, Co Antrim.
Glencloy Grounds Keeper Willie is sired by the imported tup, Ellipsis, out of Glencoy Dream and headed home with Messrs Cannon Hall Farm Ltd, Cawthorne, Barnsley.
Merryboro Hes The Man from Tom and Louise Nash, Merryboro, then made 3500gns selling to the McCornick family, Wigtown, Newton Stewart. This March-born ram lamb is sired by Merryboro Gladiator and out of Lady Million.
The male champion, Irthing Valley He’s The Boss, from Nick Brown, Keppel Vale, Irthington, Carlisle, achieved 3200gns.
Reserve male champion at the Highland and the Yorkshire, he is sired by Tank and out of Irthing Valley Fancy That. Messrs Jones, Ffairfach, Llandelio, were the final bidders on this lamb.
Following him, the reserve champion at the pre-sale show, Aberhonddu Hercules, realised the same money for D Witcomb and C Morgan, Lloegr Farm, Garthbrengy, Powys.
This ram lamb is a son of Diamond Fernandez and out of the 4200gns Sunnybank Extra Spesh.
He was knocked down to Messrs Groucott, Newport Blaenau Gwent.
The same buyer bought Andrew and Pam Parker’s January-born ram lamb, Lochlad Hitman, for 2800gns. He is by Casanova lamb and bred from Lochlad Evlin.
