A joint top price of 3000gns was achieved on two occasions at the Zwartbles Premier show and sale at Carlisle.
Dumfriesshire breeder, Neil Millar, Kirtlebridge, Lockerbie, first went to 3000gns for the reserve champion, Pistyll Laird, a shearling ram from Anerin Francis, Pistyll Uchaf, Abergorlech, Carmarthen. A son of Pistyll Fire Cracker, Laird is bred from a Danygraig Hustler sired-ewe.
The same home sold the first prize ram lamb, Pistyll Marshal, for 1000gns. Pistyll Marshal, a February-born lamb by Barmurrie Kool Kid, sold to Messrs Wilson, Little Ormside, Appleby.

Peter and Susan Addison's Hayberries flock from Barnard Castle, Co Durham, sold the second 3000gns entry. This was the second prize ram lamb, Hayberries Moonraker, a son of Selside Lamberton, bred from Tasley June. The buyers were Messrs Owen, Pandy Tudor, Abergele, Conwy.
Hayberries Maizebeck from the same home and by the same sire made 1400gns to Messrs Metcalf, Ingleton, Darlington. This January-born ram lamb is out of Dash Wood Golightly.
On the flip side, Hayberries went to 1400gns for the fifth prize ram lamb, Conic Maverick, from Brian Gibson, Three Views, Gartocharn, Alexandria. Sired by Conic Keanu, the reserve champion at the Highland Show, he is out of Rietfontein Kim.
Orkney breeder, Heather Hourston, Skelbister, Orphir, received 1000gns from Messrs Moffett, Hammerbeck, West Auckland, for the ram lamb Didcot Maserati, a son of Didcot Lexus out of a Didcot ewe.
Topping the females at 1000gns was the gimmer, Statesman LunaEclipse, from Ben Stayt, Windrush Farm, Bourton-on-the-Water, Cheltenham. A daughter of Top Notch King Kong, she is out of the show ewe, Craigies Just a Flirt. Messrs Kestell, Badgall, Launceston, Cornwall, were the final bidders.

Averages: 15 shearlings, £668.50 (-£234.96 for eight fewer sold); 29 ram lambs, £622.03 (-£299.67 for three less); 37 gimmers, £429.93 (-£30.25 for 15 fewer); 19 ewe lambs, £387.95 (-£169.86 for five less).
