The Brown family, Hilton of Culsh, New Deer, led proceedings at United Auctions’ Christmas show and sale of 1749 sheep at Huntly, taking both the champion and reserve honours.
Judge Michael Wilson of Woodhead Brothers, Turriff, awarded the top ticket to 54kg Texel crosses, which went on to top the sale at £235 per head or 433p per kg to Raeburn Butchers, Bogie Street, Huntly.
The judge purchased the reserve pen of 45kg Beltex crosses at £160.
In all 1350 lambs cashed in at 245p per kg.
