Fraserburgh breeder, Jimmy Douglas, Woodhead of Cairness, had a field day amongst the Border Leicesters, producing the top priced entry at £4000.
This was paid for a shearling ram that had been purchased as a lamb from Sandy Haggart of the Muirmouth flock, Crieff. He is a son of a North Lyham ram and sold to Jenna Reid to join the Anvil flock from Dumfries.
Second top price was £1800 paid for a shearling which stood reserve champion in the pre sale show from Neil Howie's Lyham flock from Alnwick, Northumberland. He is sired by Westforth Barbarian and was knocked down to Jim Hamilton, Silvermuir, Tom Tennant, West Forth and Jennifer Brown, Millmoor.
Averages: 36 shearling rams, £707.50 (-£293.03 for two fewer).
