A pen of five Texel cross gimmers from Willie and John Brown, Hilton of Culsh, sold for the top price of £275 per head Dingwall and Highland Marts' sale of 2026 breeding sheep which included Lewis Livestock's annual event.
The father and son duo also sold a pen of 21 Texel crosses for £260 and topped the any other breed section, selling Beltex crosses at £235.
Cheviot Mule gimmers reached £210 twice for the first prize pen from Heather and Willie Stewart, Newmore, Muir of Ord. Bred at Tillyminate, they sold to last year's buyers, Messrs Munro, Pitkerrie.

A new Cheviot Mule ewe lamb record was also achieved when a pen from Tillyminate, Gartly, sold at £195.
Scotch Mule gimmers sold to £155 from Allangrange Park, Muir of Ord with ewe lambs to £128 from Quarryhead, Huntly and Ardnamurchan Estate, Acharacle.
Other ewe lambs saw Texel crosses and other breeds reach £90 from Broombank, Culloden Moor and £140 for a trio of Dutch Spotted from Burnside, Marypark, respectively.
Overall, Texel cross gimmers (199) averaged £161.56; other breed gimmers (237), £100.98; Cheviot Mule (237), £187.90 and Scotch Mules (128) £140.43.

In the ewe lamb sections, Cheviot Mule (726) averaged £123.61 and Scotch Mules (62), £128; Tex cross (14), £80.25; other breeds (59), £90.73.
Ewes (364) averaged £103.59 having sold to £180 twice for Llyens and Lleyn crosses from Woodside, Muir of Tarradale.
