The sale of Texel female from Procters and Tatham Hall production sale included the dispersal of the adult portion of the Durisdeer flock.
Top price of 4000gns came from the Procters flock managed by Jeff Aiken and family, Jennifer, Katie and Robbie, Procters Hall Farm, Moss House Farm, Spout Lane, Wennington, Lancashire. Their gimmer is a daughter of the record breaking 350,000gns Sportsmans Double Diamond and bred from a home-bred ewe by Sportsmans Batman. She was carrying a pair to Uppermill Fabio and sold across the water to Messrs Swindell, Banbridge, Northern Ireland.
The first in the pen from the same home also sold across to Northern Ireland this time with Messrs Procter, Cross, Derry, for 2600gns. By the same sire, the dam was purchased for 22,000gns from the Allanfauld flock. She is carrying two lambs to Smithy Energizer.
The Aiken family are again behind the Tatham Hall flock, where a top price of 3200gns was paid for a 2020 born ewe. One of the best ewes in the flock, she was flushed as a gimmer, being the result of the sire, Caereinion Bonus onto a Thrunton Younique sired-dam. She sold carrying a single to Halbeath Everest. Brian MacTaggart, from Douganhill, Palnackie, Castle Douglas, forked out the cash.
Messrs Ayrton, Thurnham, Lancaster, went to 2800gns for a gimmer from the same flock carrying a pair to Old Hemley Eastwoood. She is a daughter of Douganhill Dynamite and bred from a Smithy Ben daughter.
Robert Osborne of the Durisdeer flock, Thornhill, achieved a top price of 1400gns for a 2020 born ewe. A daughter of Milnbank Aristotle, she is out of a home-bred ewe by Bradleys Agent Steel. She is in lamb to Nochnary Eusebio, carrying a single and sold to Messrs Richardson, Great Hougthon, Barnsley, Yorkshire.
