Sunnybank Flaming Hot certainly upped the temperature at Henry Jewitt's Jewitt and Sunnybank Pedigree Livestock production sale, from Romaldkirk, Co Durham, when selling for 20,000gns.

The Blue Texel gimmer sold at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, was reserve female champion at the Royal Welsh Show in July and sold to Messrs Jackson, Saintfield, Co Down. A daughter of Whatmore Eric – a £20,000 private purchase – she is bred from the bought in gimmer, Hackney Bright Eyes, and sold in lamb carrying a single to Boyo Elite.

Sunnybank Freckles was next in line at 5000gns when finding a new home with A and C Richardson, Cleenagh. A Whatmore Eric daughter, she is bred from Whatmore Caramel, which goes back to Whatmore Siren. Adding to her future potential she is scanned twins to Drumard First Class.

Sunnybank Gimme Gimme Gimme topped the Blue Texel ewe lambs when selling for 4800gns to Samantha Allen and Allen Short, Strabane, Northern Ireland. A daughter of Drumard First Class, she is bred from Sunnybank Estelle, which is a full sister to the 5000gns Sunnybank Elegance.

Next best at 2600gns was the Blue Texel ewe, Miserden Epic which sold to an undisclosed buyer. She is scanned in lamb to Drumard First Class carrying triplets. She is a daughter of Little Whisker Colyn and was bred by Aubrey and Sue Andrews.

Leading the Dutch Spotted trade at 3800gns was Sunnybank Endless Possibilities, a gimmer daughter of Lochlad Dictator, bred from an imported dam. She sold in lamb to the 7000gns Hazelberry Fatboy, scanned a pair, and headed home with Pearsbyhall Farming Partnership, Lockerbie.

The bought in Dutch Spotted ewe, Beech Hay Bolero, found a new home across the water with Messrs Reid, Dungannon, Co Tyrone, at 3000gns. Backed by imported genetics she is sired by Hiroshima, out of Adagio, and again sold in lamb to Fatboy this time carrying a single.

Badger Face Texels reached 3800gns for the in-lamb gimmer, Sunnybank Cexy, when finding a new home with Janet Carson, Strabane, Co Tyrone. She is also backed by imported genetics on both sides, and sold carrying a single to Sunnybank Import.

Badger Face Texel ewes made 3000gns when selling down to Huddersfield with Messrs Booth, New Mill. Bred by WSM Rodenburg, she is a daughter of Turbo Das Gunner, and bred from an imported dam. She sold carrying a single to Sunnybank Import.
