Over the past few years the Ingram family – William and Carole Ingram, sons Gregor and Bruce and daughter Amy – of Logie Durno, Pitcaple, Inverurie, have been exporting a lot of Charollais females into Europe but with Brexit making live exports more difficult the team have been forced to keep more sheep, which is why they held their first special production sale through Harrison and Hetherington.
The major flock reduction of the Logie Durno and Loanhead flocks, reached a top price of12,000gns for their show gimmer which stood second at the Royal Welsh and inter-breed champion at Turriff Show, when selling across the water to Richard and Harry Powell, Armagh County Armagh. Being one of the highest index in the sale, she is sired by Dalby Tuilagi, which was purchased for 5800gns from the Premier Sale in 2018, and a daughter of a home-bred ewe, which is the mother of this year's Premier sale Champion, Walking Thunder who sold for 9000gns. She is scanned a pair to the 15,000gns Wernfawr Ace.
Next in the line up at 7000gns was another gimmer, this one is sired by Foxhill Va Va Voom, which was the 2020 top priced lamb at the Premier Sale when the family bought him for 16,000gns. Bred from a Logie Durno Jackpot sired-dam, she is scanned twins to the 17,000gns Foxhill Walkabout, the hammer fell to Messrs Hoggard, Newark, Notts.
Hannah Jackson, Rigghead, Dumfries, went to 4500gns for another Va Va Voom gimmer, this one is bred from a home-bred dam sired by Rhaeadr Orlando. This gimmer is another to be scanned a pair to Foxhill Walkabout.
Topping the ewe lambs at 4200gns was a January born lamb by Foxhill Va Va Voom bred from a Loanhead dam which goes back to Tymaen Poundstretcher. Declan, Joe and Mark Miley Miley, Roscommon, Co Roscommon, took this girl back across the Irish sea with them.
The highest index lamb in the sale made 4000gns when selling in a two way split to Messrs Allen, Dunlavin, Co Wicklow; and Messrs Whittaker, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire. A December born ewe lamb she is the result of the sire, Boyo Vancouver onto a Loanhead Talisman sired-dam.
A full sister to the top price lot made 4000gns when the hammer fell to Messrs Baird, Armagh, Northern Ireland. This was another gimmer again AI'd to Wernfawr Ace and due a pair of lambs.

On the same money was an Arbryn Viper daughter. Bred from a home-bred ewe, which stood first at the Royal Welsh in 2019 before selling privately for £4500. Adding to her future potential she is scanned a pair of lambs to Foxhill Va Va Voom. Final bidders for this gimmer was Messrs Whyte, Cutteen, Kilrossanty, Co Waterford.
