The anniversary show and sale of store cattle at Aberdeen and Northern Marts, Thainstone centre, witnessed a top call of £2600 paid for a 556kg Limousin cross heifer from Harry Emslie, Brae of Coynach.
Steers realised £2060 for 672kg Charolais crosses from G and E Will, Westerton of New Rayne.
Judge, Craig Allison, Ovenstone, Forfar, found his champion in a 518kg Limousin cross heifer from Andrew and Shona Gunn, from Upper Dounreay, which went on to sell for £2450.

Standing reserve was a 632kg Limousin cross heifer from Steve Smith, Sunnyhill, Turriff, which also went on to make £2450, with both the champion and reserve being knocked down to Backmuir.
An overall average of 311.2p per kg or £1457.91 was achieved.
