A 77% clearance rate and a top price of 6500gns was achieved at Darlington Farmers Auction Marts' show and sale of pedigree Limousins staged on behalf of the North East Club.

Sale leader was first bull in the ring, Cornsay Salty, a senior son of Scorboro Marabou out of a home-bred dam from WI Suddes and Sons. He sold to the Taylor Brothers of Belle Isle, Richmond.

The same home also produced the lead priced Limousin female, in the February 2022-born Cornsay Tizzy, which made 1950gns.

The pre-sale reserve champion was the January 2022-born, Longhirst Topgun, from DW and M Jordan, Longhirst, Morpeth, which made 4800gns. A son of Maraiscote Odante, he out of Longhirst Petra, and was knocked down to AJ Marr and Son, Old Ravensworth, Gateshead.

Commercial cattle reached £2520 for a four-year-old dairy cross British Blue cow with heifer calf at foot from the herd reduction of WB Rutter and Sons, Greengill, Scargill.

Best of the bulling heifers at £2020, was a 17-month-old Limousin cross British Blue from S and J Dent and Son, Great Burdon, Darlington.
