Trade was on fire at Caledonian Marts' weekly sale of 132 prime cattle, where records were smashed in the cast ring after a 10-year-old Limousin cow from R Graham, Airthrey Kerse sold to top the trade at £3850 or 330p.
Heifers levelled at 311p having attained a top price of 350p for an Aberdeen-Angus from Ross Brothers, Stricken and to £2325 for a Limousin from Rathillet Farms, Cupar.
Bullocks peaked at 348p for a Limousin from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill or to £2287 for a another of the same from R Cook, Kinneil Mill, to cash in at 315p, whilst bulls sold to 310p for British Blue crosses on two occasions from L Laird, Lochhead and to £2279 for an Angus from W and R Thomson, Cairnbog.
A top price of 260p or £1342 was achieved for black and white bulls from R Nelson, Blairmains.
OTM dairy cows sold to 206p from RM Reid, Glen and to £1286 from A Sibbald, Greenrigg.
