Limousin crosses from Meadows of Ballied secured the lead prices at United Auctions' store cattle sale, when selling to 382.70p per kg for a 452kg bullock and to 374.50p for a 518kg heifer.
Bullocks (525) averaged 292.81p and reached £1980 for a 696kg Limousin cross from Croftjane.
Heifers achieved £1940 on two occasions for Limousin crosses from Spouthead and Meadows of Ballied, with the 634 head cashing in at 272.43p.
Young bulls (41) averaged 329.53p and sold to 399.10p for a Charolais cross and a Simmental cross from Drumgrange, and to £1650 for a Simmental cross from Shawsmill.
On Monday, the firm held its annual show and sale of 877 suckled calves, which saw the reserve champion, a 310kg Limousin heifer from S Kennedy, Borlick, sell for the top price of £2500.
Supreme went to a 432kg Limousin bullock from the same home which later realised £1750.
Bullocks (534) and heifers (322) averaged 345.28p and 318.02p respectively.
Also forward were 3832 store lambs and feeding sheep, which peaked at £129 for Beltex from Kingarth.
Beltex and Texel averages improved on the week at £111.92 (+£11.91) and £99.79 (+£1.40) respectively. Suffolk, Blackface and Cheviots all dropped on the week at £95.34 (-£8.67), £69.24 (-0.97p) and £74.39 (-£3.41) respectively.

Aberdeen Angus bullocks from Mid Skeog, and Mossneuk, topped Craig Wilson's store cattle sale having sold to £1960 and 318p per kg respectively.
Bullocks (169) and heifers (132) cashed in at 288.87p and 280.2p respectively.
Heifers peaked at £1730 for an Aberdeen Angus from Fernlea and to 314p for Limousins from West High Ardwell.
All classes of store lambs were dearer on the week, having sold to £120 for Beltex crosses from B Craig, Rankinston.
On Tuesday, some 19 dairy cattle sold to a top of £2000 on two occasions for fresh calved heifers from Messrs McHarg, Crofthead.
British Blue stirks led the show of 123 calves and stirks selling at £1580 for a heifer from Messrs Lawson, Parklea and to £1160 for a bullock from McCubbin, Garrockhill.
Aberdeen Angus took the top prices among the calves which hit a top of £690 paid for a bull from Messrs Bodle, Dirnow, with a heifer from Messrs Parker, Merkland selling for the same money.
A Limousin cow with twin calves from Muirlaught, topped the breeding cattle sale when selling at £3700.

A 292kg Limousin cross from Cottown, Rhynie, led the heifers at 411p, whilst a 662kg British Blue cross from Meikle Coull, Tannadice, made £1900.
Limousins topped the bulls at 311.7p for a 308kg entry from Bush of Muldearie, Keith, or to £1600 for a 518kg animal from Mains of Elrick, Auchnagatt.
On Tuesday, the firm sold 3186 store and breeding sheep including island consignments, which peaked at £255 for Mule gimmers from Tollo Farm, Fortrie. Breeding sheep (122) cashed in at £119.27.
Suffolks from Upper Tillenhilt, Midmar, topped the store lambs (1590) at £119, to average £87.60.

Middleton in Teesdale
The inaugural Young Farmers’ Calf Summering competition staged through Harrison and Hetherington, saw an entry of 17 cattle, and the champion, a bullock from Seth Pattinson which later topped the sale at £2000 when selling to the judge, Andrew Smith, Carnforth.
Reserve was a British Blue heifer from Harry Askwith, which sold for £1580.
Outwith the young farmers’ cattle, the pre-sale champion and reserve both went to steers from JC and J White, Rigg, which later realised £1720 and £1760 respectively.

On Monday, Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 226 store cattle, which reached £2175 for a British Blue heifer from JG and RW Nevinson and Son, High House Farm.
The same breed also led the bullocks at £1725 for JH Horn, Barton Dale.
More than 500 lambs came under the hammer to cash in at £97.
The sale topped at £130 for continental cross lambs from J and D Farming, Kirkland Howe.
