Some 885 lambs forward a C and D Auctions’s sale saw Suffolks top the trade at £159 from JR Jackson and Son, Newbarn, or to 318p for Texels from W Slaven and Son, Foregirth. Cast sheep (325) peaked at £218 for Suffolk tups from JB Paterson and Co, Hartbush.
Stirling (UA)
United Auctions sold 8269 sheep comprising of 5931 lambs and 2338 cast sheep. Lambs averaged 272.1p and sold to 335p for Beltex from Strageath Hall or £166 for Texels from South Flanders. Cast sheep peaked at £250 for Texel ewes from Kilmeny.

Stirling (Cally)
Bullocks and heifers averaged 299.77p and 298.59p per kg respectively at the Caledonian Marts’ sale.
Bullocks (21) sold to 338p from A Kennedy, Seggarsdean, Haddington and AA and J Brand, Nethermyres, Auchtermuchty or to £2353 for a Limousin from Nethermyres. Heifers (14) were topped at 338p for a Limousin from DS and RC Taylor, Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill or £1996 for another of the same from JH and NT Turnbull, Meadowend, Clackmannan.
Young bulls averaged 244.54p having sold to 280p and £2485 for British Blues from C Dick, Taylorton and cast cattle (74) averaged 161.8p, peaking at 255p or £2550 for a Limousin from A Orr, Lomond Muir.
On Tuesday, 1097 lambs averaged 270p, selling to 341p for Texels and Beltex from DGC Stewart, Leysbent, Denny, or £158 for Beltex from G and J Davie, Harviesmailing, Denny. Cast sheep (507) were topped at £199 for Texel ewes from W and P Stevenson, Ballingray, Fife.
Thainstone
Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 2717 lambs to average 268p, having sold to 323.6p or £178 for Beltex from Drumnahive, Kildrummy.
Cast sheep (911) averaged £92.21 and sold to £229.50 for Beltex from Bush of Muldearie, Keith.
Bullocks (20) peaked at 297p for a 665kg Limousin cross, or £2145 for a Charolais cross both from Daies, Wardhouse. Heifers (37) sold to 317p for a 605kg Limousin cross from Chapel of Barras Farm, Stonehaven or £2138.15 for a British Blue cross from Brewthin, Cullerlie.
Young bulls (32) reached 307p or £2670.90 for an 870kg Charolais from Mains of Elrick, Auchnagatt and cast entries sold to £2740 for a 1120kg Limousin bull from Dunecht Home Farms, Dunecht.
St Boswells
Bullocks and heifers averaged 317p and 302p per kg respectively at the Harrison and Hetherington’s sale.
Bullocks (21) sold to 330p twice from both Penston and Learielaw or to £2553.28 from Wellheads. Heifers (54) reached 348p from Bee Edge and £2435.88 from Wellheads.
Some 82 cast entries were topped at 259p by a cow from Whitrighill or £2213 for a bull from Howahill. The 2130 lambs averaged 280p and sold to 333p for Beltex from Wester Ulston or £165 for Texels from Threepwood. Cast sheep (745) averaged £90.19 and sold to £220 for a Texel ewe from Messrs Murray, Redden.
Lanark
Lawrie and Symington sold 130 head of cattle comprising of 55 bullocks and heifers and 75 cast cows at their sale.
Limousins led the trade with heifers to 360p or £2484 both from Brockwoodlees Farm, while bullocks sold to 292p from Walkerdyke Farm and to £2012 from Strutherhead Farm.
Cast cattle reached £2200 for an Aberdeen Angus bull from Newlands Farm or 244p for a Limousin cow from Gillbank Farm.
Lambs (4018) averaged 278p, selling to 331p for Beltex from High Parks Farm or £182 for Texels from Whinbush Farm. Cast sheep (2200) averaged £99.86 and peaked at £285 for Texels from Mitchellhill Farm.
Ayr
The 2760 sheep forward at the Craig Wilson’s sale saw 2207 lambs average 271p, having sold to 330p or £162 for Texels from Messrs Campbell, Crawlaw. Cast sheep reached £192 for Texel ewes from S Limond, Knocknaib.
Heifers (10) sold to 337p for a Charolais and a Limousin from The Smith Family, North Boig. Cast cattle (176) reached £1980 for an Aberdeen Angus cow from Dunbae.
Huntly
United Auctions sold 1504 sheep with 1232 lambs averaging 251p, selling to 277p for 39kg Texels from Monlettie, Methlick, or £144 for 66kg continentals from Birkenbog, Cullen. Cast sheep were topped at £230 by a Texel ewe from Auchanland, Cornhill.
