Gordon and Fiona Clark said one last goodbye to their Fife-based Broombrae herd as they held their final dispersal, where 16 cows and calves averaged £5432 and five in-calf heifers cashed in at £5628.
Broombrae Delight breeding was what was making the money, with the top two lots realising 8000gns.
Firstly, Broombrae Delight L11, a four-year-old cow, found a new home with Dorothy Moffat, Innverwick, Dunbar. A daughter of Lisglass Goldstar, she sold in-calf alongside her heifer calf, April-born Broombrae Delight R6, sired by Coltfield Maciver.

Joint sale leader was the 2021-born in-calf cow, Broombrae Delight M20, another by the same sire. She sold to the Goldie family, Newbie Mains, Annan. Her heifer calf, six-month-old Broombrae Delight R7, is sired by Camus Harold.
A third Delight lot made 7000gns when the five-year-old in-calf cow, Broombrae Delight K1, was knocked down to A and R Brownlie Ltd, Mavis Bank, Melrose. She also sold with her heifer calf Broombrae Delight R3, which is a March-born Camus Harold daughter.
Broombrae Rosina M13 and her April-born daughter, Broombrae Rosina R5, made 6000gns. The three-year-old cow by Lisglass Goldstar was knocked down to Binn Agricultural Ltd, Binn Farm, Glenfarg.
Another on the same money and by the same sire, Broombrae Delight N22, travels up to Orkney with JD Flett of Stank. This in-calf heifer is out of Broombrae Delight I15.
Michael Halligan, Nether Stewarton, Peebles, went to 5800gns for the in-calf November 2022-born heifer, Broombrae Delight N23. An Innerwick Logan daughter, she is bred from Broombrae Delight K1.
It was a successful production sale for Michael and John Barlow, Denizes, Lancashire, who had forward 18 head of cattle from their 80-cow Denizes herd, topping at 8000gns.
The 16 cows and calves cashed in at £5432 and five in-calf heifers levelled at £5628.
Sale leader was the four-year-old in-calf cow Denizes Matilda 6, which is sired by Denizes Impressive and out of out of Raceview Beauty Matilda. She sold in-calf to Saltire Impressive, with her April-born heifer calf, Denizes Matilda 20, sired by Hiltonstown Lorenzo. The outfit sold to RE and SHW Steggles, Fieldings, Norfolk.
The same buyers went to 6000gns for the 16-month-old heifer, Denizes Trixie-Belle 24. A Saltire Impressive daughter, she is out of Denizes Trixie-Belle 6.
James Hodge, Ploughlands, Dundonald, went to 7000gns for the nine-year-old in-calf cow, Denizes Melody 22. A daughter of Bosahan Dynamo, she is out of Denizes Melody 10 and sold with her April-born heifer calf, Denizes Melody 62, at foot.
Two lots then made 4500gns. First was Denizes Melody 42, a January 2021-born cow, which found a a new home with James Bignal, Smaladh, Isle of Islay. Sired by Denizes Ibraham and out of Denizes Melody 34, she sold in calf to Saltire Impressive, alongside her six-month-old heifer calf, Denizes Melody 64, which is by Ormorga Noah.
On the same money was the July 2023-born heifer, Denizes Matilda 16. Sired by Denizes Hamish, her dam, Raceview Dawn Matilda, was bought for €8200. She is off to Shrewsbury with TS and GE Powell, Burleton Lane Farm.
