Tonley Princess Z108 led the Tonley Aberdeen Angus production sale from Neil and Mark Wattie, having secured the lead price of 15,000gns.
The sale from the father and son duo from Alford, Aberdeenshire, saw 47 lots gross more than £200,000 to average £4385.11.
Sale leader was a July 2023-born heifer that was the pick of Steph Dick, Westeron, Cowie, Stirling. For her money she gets a daughter of the 14,000gns Kilmaluag Eriskay, bred from Tonley Princess W783, which is a Tonley Jester Eric daughter.
The same buyer also went to 6200gns for the January-born bull calf, Tonley Elano A127. A son of Tonley Jester Eric, he is bred from Tonley Eyrie, which goes back to Blelack Evor. Three lots made 10,000gns, with the first being Tonley Princess Z049 which was knocked down to Jonathan and Lisa Doyle, Drumhill.
This April 2023-born in-calf heifer is a daughter of Gretnahouse Krack Light and bred from Tonley Pricess W695, which goes back to Tonley Kasper.
Another Kilmaluag Eriskay daughter, Tonley Annie Z050, made the same money. She is out of Tonley Annie T382, which goes back to Weeton Evolution. This in-calf heifer found a new home with Brotherton Estates ltd, Johnshaven, Montrose, Angus.
George and Nikki Taylor of the Mosshall herd, Blackburn, West Lothian, went to 10,000gns for a cow and calf outfit.
This was the nine-year-old cow, Tonley Ester R161, which is a daughter of Blelack Evor H929 and out of Tonley Ester K735. She sold with her June-born bull calf, Tonley Enzo A204, which is by Tonley Jester Eric.
This year’s Royal Highland Show champion, Tonley Fiona Y937 then made 8500gns when selling to Murdoch Allan and Son, Hatton, Peterhead. This April 2022-born female which sold in calf to Inkstack frontier, is a daughter of Tonley Jester Eric and out of the Cardona Proud Punch-sired, Tonley Fiona V594.
The last animal in the production sale achieved 8000gns when selling to the Adam family, Newhouse of Glamis, Forfar. Selling at this price was the August 2023-born heifer, Tonley Equidora Z098, a Blelack Epic X116 daughter, out of Tonley Equidora X825.
Tonley Kat Pride S256 made 7000gns when the hammer fell to Neil and Graham Massie, of Blelack, Dinnet. This eight-year-old cow is a daughter of Blelack Evor, out of Wall Kind Pride, and has bred bulls to 20,000gns. She sold with her June-born heifer calf, Tonley Kay Pride A200, which is sired by Tonley Jester Eric.
A January-born heifer calf was next in the money when selling 7000gns. Tonley Ester A129, a daughter of Tonley Jester Eric S318, out of the Warrenho Emperor daughter, Tonley Ester was knocked down to R Mawer and E Benge, Corner Farm, Lincs.
Two other Kilmaluag Eriskay 2023-born heifers made 7000gns each.
First was Tonley Ester Z038 which sold to Angus Neish, Rodmead, Warminster.
Later, Tonley Julia Z037 found a new home with RK Harding, Shrewbridge House, Cheshire.
