The majority of breed averages dropped on the year at United Auction’s Stirling Bull Sales, with all sales continuing to be staged on the Monday, where 184 bulls exchanged hands, one more than last year.
Simmentals took the top price of 28,000gns for Kilbride Farm Prince from Norman and Michael Robson, Kilbride Farm, Doagh, when selling to Michael and John Barlow of the Denizes herd.

This helped the 49 Simmentals average £7434, down £160 on the year. Once again achieving the highest breed average was the Charolais, with a £7977 average for 65 bulls sold, down £276 on the year. Limousins took a tumble of £750 on the year with just 38 cashing in at £6303, just 23 Aberdeen Angus bulls balanced out at £6076, a drop of £623.
Taking jumps on the year, five Shorthorn bulls levelled at £5187, up £1962 and three Salers averaged £5740, up £1540.
