UNITED Auctions’ Islay centre sold 4602 feeding and breeding sheep, where 3458 lambs sold to average £90.72 (+£6.14).

A Bluefaced Leicester shearling from Jack McDonald, 168 High Street, took the reserve champion in the pre-sale show which later sold for the top price of £650.

The judge R Hartley, Widdington Hall, York selected a Blackface two shear, from Messrs Bowman, Mid Cragabus as his champion.
