Bullocks peaked at 336.0p for a 506kg Limousin cross from Airyhassen, and to £2000 for a 722kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Southwick.

Aberdeen Angus crosses from Francesfield, led the young bulls at 240.90p and £1190 to average 172.94p.

On Monday, Suffolk from Outerston topped the store lambs at £132.

Averaged held up well on the week with Cheviots at £87.04 (+ £12.45 on the week), Cheviot Mules cashing in at £98.38 (+ £11.00), whilst Suffolk and Texels levelled at £102.57 (+ £6.76) and £98.96 (+ £2.67) respectively. Beltex averaged £110.63 (+ 0.97p) and Blackface at £64.54 (- 0.16p).

On Monday, Penrith and District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 369 store cattle, which averaged £1320.

The sale topped at £1945 for a British Blue bullock from M Ridsdale and Son, Yew Tree, whilst heifers peaked at £1795 for a Limousin cross from JB Holliday and Sons, Town Head.

The firm also held their fortnightly sale of 700 store lambs which sold to £132 for a Texel lamb from LJ Cowper, Newbridge.

Limousin bullocks led Wallets Marts' sale of store cattle at £1960 and 312.3p per kg for Messrs Dawson, Kirkland, and Messrs Robb, Barskeoch Mains, respectively.

A Limousin cross heifer with bull calf at foot from Messrs Fisher, Flathill, topped the breeding cattle at £4050.

Some 1905 store sheep sold to £121 for Texels from Messrs Gourlay, Craigmuie.

The firm also held their sale of 975 spring born calves, where Limousin heifers reached £1900 for Messrs Fitzsimon, Tregallon and to 546.9p for Shennanton Livestock.

Bullocks sold to £1530 for Simmentals from Messrs Forster, Harvieston and to 493.3p for Limousins from Shennanton Livestock.
