Rashiburn Digby, the first prize stallion from W and P Robertson, Montrose, sold for the top price of 6200gns at Aberdeen and Northern Marts’ sale of 55 Shetland ponies at Thainstone, which averaged £1055.54.
Next best at 3500gns was the second prize standard mare, Stow Lady Vivacious, from JD Swan, Teanahaun Croft, Connon Bridge.
Shetland ponies also sold well at Lerwick with the sale of 57 head sold under the auspices of the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society, reaching a high of 4300gns for a piebald stallion from M Williamson, Orgill, Vidlin. They averaged £934.50.
