Aberdeenshire breeder Mark Wattie’s Tonley flock had a field day selling Blue Texels at Harrison and Hetherington’s Pedigree Sheep Fair at Carlisle, when securing the top two female prices at 2800gns and 1600gns and the equal top male at 2000gns.
Dearest was Tonley Blue Heaven, an embryo-bred entry from the Alford-based flock. She is sired by Joes Alvin, bred from Saltire Blue Fruity Tooty II and was knocked down to Messrs Hamilton, Cumnock.
Her full ET sister, Tonley Hazel then made 1600gns to John and Laura Cousar, Howcommon, Kilmarnock.

Matching that 2000gns ram lamb price was the male champion and supreme overall from Stasa Moyse’ Saltire flock from Broadwater, Skene, Aberdeenshire. Her Saltire Blue Jazz (ET) is bred from the show ewe, Saltire Blue Golden Girl, sired by Matt’s Escobar, and sold jointly to Neil Millar, Joyfield, Lockerbie, and John and James Graham, Blair Drummond, Stirling.
