The sale of Mule ewe lambs topped at £161 from G Allan, Glenquey, Glendevon.

Incorporated was the show and sale of Blackface wedder lambs, which the judge, Douglas Steel, awarded his champion to a pen from N and C Chambers, Todholes, which later realised £90.

On Monday, the firm sold 937 store cattle and breeding cattle, where bullocks and heifers cashed in at 274p and 271p respectively.

Limousins led all sections with bullocks selling to 339p for M Campbell, Glenstockdale, Stranraer, and to £1800 for A and J Orr and Son, Hill of Harthill, respectively.

Heifers peaked at 362p for Carlung Farms, Ayrshire, and to £1700 for Skeoch Farms, Stirling.

Breeding cattle averaged £1661 having realised £2020 for a Limousin cow and calf from A and M Gray, Craighead, Back O’Hill.

Bullocks led the way at United Auctions' store cattle sale, when selling to 334.60p per kg for a 387kg Limousin cross from Barbreck, and to £1955 for a 653kg Charolais cross from Borgue House, with 888 bullocks averaging 289.67p.

Heifers (330) cashed in at 278.96p having sold to 330.60p for a 372kg Limousin cross from Greenwells and to £1790 for a 600kg Limousin cross from Midlock.

A centre record for rearing cattle (217) was made when five-month-old Charolais bullocks from Landale and Co, Dalswinton, made £1065.

On Monday, the firm sold 8271 store lambs and feeding sheep to a top of £114 for Beltex from Balbedie.

Beltex crosses and Suffolk crosses cashed in at £106.94 and £100.30 respectively, Texel crosses averaged £95.46, whilst Mules made £85.32. Cheviot crosses and Blackfaces averaged £74.36 and £65.17 respectively.

On Tuesday, the firm sold four dairy cattle to a top of £2150 for a fresh calved Holstein Friesian heifer from Messrs Steel, Ditton.

A small show of 88 calves and stirks reached £1290 for a white Shorthorn cross bullock stirk from Messrs Kerr, Broom.

Top price calf was £580 for an Aberdeen Angus cross bull from Kaimhill, with heifers following at £560 for a British Blue cross from Messrs King, Old Barn.

A Limousin cross heifer from Mrs Anderson, 1 Burnbank Road scaling 620kg fetched £2000 at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' store cattle sale.

Heifers (145) averaged 298.8p and sold to 372.1p per kg for a 430kg Limousin cross from Tofts of Tain, Castletown.

A pair of Limousins also led the bullocks at 344.1p crossing the weigh bridge at 340kg for Assynt Mains, Evanton, and to £1940 for a 660kg Charolais cross from Meiklebogs, Gordonstown, with bullocks (189) cashing in at 295.6p.

Bulls (14) averaged 296p and sold to 358.1p per kg for a pair of 310kg Limousins from Pennan Road, Ellon and to £1460 for a pair of 510kg Simmentals from Dundurcas, Rothes.

On Tuesday, the firm also sold 1987 store lambs to average £87.53 having sold to £128 for Texels from Tullochcoy, Crathie.
