Ewe lambs attracted the top two prices at the Badger Face Texel Sheep Society show and sale at Carlisle where the reserve champion, Bonny & Bold Flaming Glory, from Northern Ireland breeder Tara O’Brien, led the trade at 3000gns.
The lamb from Coshquin, Co Londonderry, is by the imported Cleenagh Makavelli and out of Cleenagh Creme De La Creme. She sold down to Dorset with Eastbury Livestock, Blandford, Dorset.
Fellow Co Londonderry breeders, Russell Millen and Seamus Killen, Coleraine, sold their fourth prize ewe lamb, Knockmult Freya, for 2800gns, to Oliver Watson, Hill Farm House, Pennington. For their money, they get a daughter of Duhonw Frank the Tank out of an imported ewe.
