A gimmer from the Linlithgow-based Dun-mor flock of Messrs Connor and Dalrymple, attracted the top price of 700gns at the Jacob Sheep Society Northern Region show and sale at Skipton Auction Mart.

This second prize four-horned gimmer shown by Mairi Connor and Scott Dalrymple is sired by Dun-mor Five Star and out of a Dun-mor Ace-sired ewe. She sold to Ian Forsyth, Aberlour, Strathspey.

The first prize gimmer from Claire Bentham’s Greenbank flock, Long Preston, achieved the second top price of 580gns.

This two-horned entry by Border War Dance, out of a Rill Chill-sired dam, travels down to Wales with Rhys Jones, Pwllheli, on the Llŷn Peninsula.

Sid and Sheila Moore, Willmors flock, Newton-le-Willows, Bedale, secured the pre-sale championship with a five-year-old four-horned ewe purchased from Ben Stanley’s Derbyshire flock three years ago. She is sired by Blackbrook Hibbins and later made 480gns selling to Robert Locker, Greenlaw, Berwickshire.

Ewe lambs peaked at 450gns for the third prize winner from Ewen Macmillan’s Luruha flock, Fintry. The January-born two-horned entry by Penni Bach Celt, out of a Harbell Lincoln dam, was bought by Sontley Jacobs, Wrexham.

Males reached a high of 500gns for the first prize tup lamb from Jean Price of the Pentrenant flock, Powys. Her Pentrenant Fire Pit, a February-born four-horned lamb by Hope Fire Blast, sold to John and Rachel Knowles, Riverbank flock, Clitheroe.

Scots made their mark at the Jacob Sheep Society Northern Region 49th annual show and sale at CCM Skipton Auction Mart, when Connor and Dalrymple partnership, Dunmor flock, Linlithgow, West Lothian, sold the top priced lot at 700gns.

After 28 years as Jacob sheep breeders, Sid and Sheila Moore, Willmors flock, Newton-le-Willows, Bedale, consigned the last of their long-established flock, and managed to finish in style claiming the champion with an aged ewe. This March 2019 four-horn ewe was acquired from Ben Stanley’s Derbyshire flock three years ago, being a by Blackbrook Hibbins. She made 480gns when selling North with Robert Locker, Greenlaw, Berwickshire.
