A timed online production sale from Dr Peter Fitzgerald's Cherryvalley Beef Shorthorn herd from Crumlin, peaked at £13,300 for a March 2022-born heifer.
The sale conducted over three days through Ballymena Livestock Mart and H&H was topped by Cherryvalley Thriving, a Creaga Malibu-sired heifer out of the Ex94-classified Fearn Hopscotch Monique. She sold to breeder and professional photorapher Alfie Shaw, Glebefarm Livestock, Dungannon.
Commenting after the sale, Mr Shaw said: “We are delighted to have secured this beauty of a heifer to introduce a new female line into our herd. Her dam is a powerhouse of a cow, and we are excited to see how she calves down to Meonside Randango”.
