A Sportsmans Dare Devil daughter from Herefordshire-based James and Ellie Amphlett led the gimmer trade at Lanark, when selling for 5000gns.
Bred from a Clarks-bred ewe by Procters Chumba Wumba, she sold to Jed Sharp, Worcestershire.
The female champion at the pre-sale show from Charlie Boden and family’s Sportsmans flock from Stockport, Cheshire, made 3600gns. This was a daughter of the 170,000gns Rhaeadr First Choice out of a Procters-bred dam by Fordafourie Balvenie. She was purchased by Christopher Cornthwaite for the Stumpscross flock, Clitheroe.

At 2600gns, Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock from Hill of Errol, Perthshire, sold a Haddo Falcon daughter out of a dam by Knock Banker, to Jan Boomars for the Vexour flock, Kent.
The same buyer also went to 1300gns for a gimmer from Keith and Andrew Campbell’s Overburns flock, Biggar. Another by Haddo Falcon, she is out of a dam by Knap Alligator.
The gimmer sale was preceeded by a charity auction of semen to raise funds for the Society’s 50th Anniversary charity, The Farm Safety Foundation better known as Yellow Wellies. This was topped at £460/dose for six doses of semen from Procters Chumba Wumba, purchased by Will Davis, Usk Valley.
Averages; 19 gimmers £1146.71 (-£362.29 for 16 fewer sold).
