Bullocks sold to 334.30p for a 353kg Limousin cross from Milrig, and to £1870 for a 548kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Easter Howgate.

A 474kg Charolais cross heifer realised 322.80p for Kincraigie, and to £1680 for a 602kg Limousin cross from Dairy House.

Charolais crosses from Kincraigie, led the young bulls (5) at 273.10p and £1280 for 454kg and 512kg entries respectively, to cash in at 244.44p.

Carlisle

A strong entry of 525 store cattle were presented at Harrison and Hetherington's weekly sale having achieved an overall average of £1370.

Bullocks sold to £2000 on two occasions for a Limousin from Messrs Studholme , Ashview, Wigton and again for a Charolais from Messrs Fisher Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas.

A Limousin from Messrs Grice, Newtown, Carlisle, led the heifer trade at £1980.

The weekly sale of weaned cattle, reached £1380 for Charolais and Limousin bullocks from Messrs Duff, The Laythes and Messrs Eve, Stubbsgill, respectively.

Limousin heifers sold to £1080 from Messrs Greenbank, The Faulds.

British Blues led the 276 calves, with a bull making £780 for Messrs Kirkpatrick, Howthat, and heifers to £605 from Messrs Bowes, Harbarrow.

Bullocks secured £1770 at Craig Wilson's sale of 329 store cattle, for an Aberdeen Angus off Glenlussa, whilst Limousin bullocks reached 340p per kg for Blackbyres.

Limousins from Hallrigg, led the heifers at £1770 and 350p.

On Tuesday, the firm sold 11 dairy cattle to a top of £2500 for a fresh calved Holstein Friesian heifer off Messrs Borland, Mossbog.

In calf heifers from Messrs Graham, North Biggart topped at £1180.

A monster show of 172 calves and stirks was forward, which was led by a Simmental cross heifer stirk at £1220 from Messrs McLelland, Knockshinnoch.

Bullocks made £1050 for Limousin crosses from Messrs Murdoch, Fleminghill.

Among the calves, it was a Limousin cross heifer from Messrs Parker, Auchenairney, that achieved £820, whilst a British Blue cross bull made £700 for Lynch Farms, East Brockloch.

Also forward was a small show of breeding cattle, which witnessed a Limousin heifer with a bull calf from Barleith, made £2750 twice.

Heifers sold to 320p for Limousins from J and J Kinloch, Walton, Cardross, and to £1600 for a British Blue from DL Nelson, Cuttlehill, Crossgates.

Breeding cattle sold to £1720 for a Shorthorn cow and calf from Walker of Netherwood, whilst in-calf cows reached £1680 for a Simmental from D Cowey, Feddans.
